Derya Pamukcu received a doctorate in 1987 from Louisiana State University, a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University, and a Bachelor of Science from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey. He is a member of the Project Management Institute and certified Project Management Professional.

Before joining Lehigh, Derya had a distinguished career at major institutions such as Bell Laboratories, AT&T, and IBM. He investigated software development technologies to accelerate deployment of large-scale projects at Bell Laboratories. Later, he worked as a Technology Leader and a Manager at AT&T, where he led development of large enterprise applications using web technology. At IBM Global Services he continued work on large-scale telecommunication systems as an Executive Project Manager and an Architect. Derya enjoyed the software industry from many aspects, including founding and growing a local software company.

His areas of interest include Information Systems and Software Engineering, Design and Analysis of Network and Communications Systems, Engineering Decision Making, Machine Learning applications in Manufacturing Automation, and Project Management.
